This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business performance while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate extensive clinical and account knowledge regarding rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Recognize and prioritize high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account plans to enhance disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and support treatment initiation and adherence.
• Create and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access factors, and competitive trends to inform territory strategies.
• Maintain precise customer documentation, forecasts, expense reports, administrative records, and business updates.
• Establish health system, center of excellence, and referral network accounts in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Foster trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office staff, and care teams.
• Analyze account influence and decision-making processes, set engagement objectives, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant account activities with Mirum field partners.
• Clearly and credibly communicate complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Influence stakeholders without direct authority and effectively manage resistance.
• Keep a patient and caregiver focus in territory and account-related decisions.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient journey obstacles.
• Identify and address customer, access, and patient support challenges.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field to inform strategy, messaging, training, resources, customer experiences, and execution.
• Participate in business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and a commitment to ethical practices.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business outcomes in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding with the ability to learn, retain, and articulate intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information.
• Experience with account-based selling in health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively question the status quo, influence behaviors, and enhance customer decision-making.
• Working knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease contexts.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance data, derive insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into effective field execution.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, judgment, and capability to build trust with sophisticated clients.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks while working independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in collaborating cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend obligations.
