This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement business plans for the territory that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to uncover opportunities and refine territory strategies.
• Achieve territory business goals through effective prioritization, customer engagement, resource management, and accountability.
• Maintain up-to-date customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Identify, prioritize, and nurture high-potential accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Develop and implement tailored account plans that reflect patient journeys, stakeholder dynamics, clinical decision-making, referral patterns, access considerations, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
• Establish trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and other members of the care team.
• Map out influence and decision-making processes within intricate accounts and secure subsequent steps to advance account strategies.
• Coordinate compliant account actions in collaboration with field partners.
• Cultivate and maintain expertise in rare cholestatic liver disease, including diagnostic pathways, mechanisms of action, clinical data, product profiles, approved uses, safety information, patient support pathways, access, reimbursement, and competitive insights.
• Clearly and credibly communicate complex scientific and clinical information to healthcare professionals and accounts.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer interactions while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Influence stakeholders without direct authority, navigate resistance, and enhance disease awareness, patient identification, referrals, treatment considerations, initiation, and persistence.
• Keep the focus on patients and caregivers in all territory and account decisions.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services partners to overcome barriers in the patient journey.
• Highlight recurring customer, access, and patient-support challenges to internal teams.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy teams.
• Align account strategies across field roles and share actionable insights from the field.
• Contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Act with ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and a strong commitment to Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business outcomes in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and convey complex disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information.
• Experience with account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen and the capability to analyze performance data, identify insights, create territory and account strategies, and translate plans into effective field execution.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and trust-building abilities.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks while performing independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical behavior, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight stays and occasional weekend commitments.
