This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business results while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and rank high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies to enhance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and adherence.
• Create and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive records including customer interactions, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Establish relationships with accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Foster trusted connections with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care team members.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts and ensure next steps are outlined.
• Coordinate compliant account activities among field partners.
• Convey intricate scientific and clinical information in a clear and credible manner.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Identify gaps in disease awareness, referrals, treatment access, and patient support, while addressing barriers.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services teams.
• Work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, Advocacy, and other departments.
• Gather actionable field insights and contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning while embodying Mirum's values.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business outcomes in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or another complex specialty market is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the capability to learn, retain, and articulate complex disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical data, and product knowledge.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to effectively challenge the status quo, influence decisions, and enhance customer decision-making.
• Knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services within rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the capability to interpret performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to foster trust with diverse customers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and performing independently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical standards, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and the capacity to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend obligations.
