This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patient care in a designated territory.
• Cultivate extensive clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Recognize and prioritize high-opportunity customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies to enhance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and persistence.
• Create and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain precise customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Build strategic accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trustworthy relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care teams.
• Navigate influence and decision-making processes in complex accounts and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
• Coordinate compliant account initiatives in collaboration with field partners.
• Clearly and accurately convey complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement sanctioned promotional programs and customer interactions in line with company policies and regulations.
• Influence various stakeholders, manage resistance, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Keep patients and caregivers at the forefront of territory and account strategies.
• Work with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient journey obstacles.
• Identify and escalate barriers related to customer access and patient support.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable field insights and contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and a commitment to Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business results in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and communicate intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information.
• Experience in account-based sales across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Capability to utilize insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and drive customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services within rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate those plans into field execution.
• Outstanding interpersonal, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and trust-building abilities.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, organized, and able to prioritize while working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success collaborating cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Strong commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments.
