This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Achieve exceptional and sustainable business performance while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases along with Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize customers, accounts, and referral networks with the highest potential.
• Implement tailored account plans that enhance disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and support treatment initiation and ongoing adherence.
• Design and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive information to modify territory strategies as necessary.
• Keep precise records of customer interactions, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Build strategic accounts and referral networks across pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology, including health systems and centers of excellence.
• Establish trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care teams.
• Map out influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts to ensure appropriate next steps are taken.
• Coordinate compliant account actions alongside Mirum field partners.
• Clearly and credibly communicate complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Influence various stakeholders without authority and constructively navigate resistance.
• Keep the focus on patients and caregivers in all territory and account decisions.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services partners to overcome barriers in the patient journey.
• Raise recurring customer, access, and patient-support challenges to internal teams.
• Partner effectively with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable field insights for strategy, messaging, training, resource development, customer experience, and execution.
• Contribute to business reviews, training initiatives, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional projects.
• Operate with a sense of ownership, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and initiative in a fast-paced rare disease landscape.
• Create engagement opportunities, experiment with new methods, learn rapidly, and turn insights into action.
• Maintain performance under pressure, uncertainty, obstacles, delays, and discouragement.
• Seek feedback, embrace coaching, and continuously enhance clinical, strategic, and selling skills.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and adhere to ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful conduct.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven success in consistently achieving business outcomes in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is very desirable.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the ability to learn, retain, and convey complex information about disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product specifics.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to apply insight-driven or challenger-style selling techniques to effectively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services specific to rare disease markets.
• Solid business acumen with the capacity to interpret performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into effective execution in the field.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, judgment, and capacity to build trust with sophisticated clients.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and able to prioritize effectively while performing independently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• A commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional protocols.
• A valid driver's license and the willingness to travel up to 70%, which includes frequent overnight stays and occasional weekend commitments.
