This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Achieve strong and sustainable business performance while positively impacting patients within a designated territory.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize high-potential customers, accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks.
• Create and implement territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional priorities.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to enhance territory strategy.
• Maintain precise customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Develop and execute tailored account plans that consider patient journeys, key stakeholders, clinical decision-making, referral patterns, access challenges, customer needs, and competition.
• Establish trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office staff, and healthcare teams.
• Map influence and decision-making within complex accounts to ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant account actions among field partners.
• Clearly and credibly communicate complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional programs and engage customers in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Assist customers in addressing gaps in disease awareness, diagnosis, referral processes, treatment considerations, and patient support.
• Influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority and constructively navigate resistance.
• Ensure that patients and caregivers remain central to decisions made in the territory and accounts.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services partners to overcome patient-journey obstacles.
• Elevate ongoing customer, access, and patient-support challenges to internal teams.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather and communicate actionable insights from the field.
• Contribute to business reviews, training initiatives, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, and resilience in a changing rare-disease landscape.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and maintain ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful conduct.
• Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Strong clinical aptitude along with the ability to learn, retain, and convey intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the capability to interpret performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into actionable field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation skills, judgment, and a knack for building trust with sophisticated customers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks while working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in partnering cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Strong commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license with the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments.
