This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Achieve robust, sustainable business results and significant patient outcomes within a designated territory.
• Cultivate extensive clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver conditions and Mirum's Liver product line.
• Identify and prioritize high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies to enhance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and continuity.
• Formulate and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategy.
• Maintain comprehensive customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Develop relationships with health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trusted rapport with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office staff, and care teams.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes in complex accounts and secure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant actions across field partners within accounts.
• Convey complex scientific and clinical information in a clear and credible manner.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Engage multiple stakeholders, manage resistance, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Keep patients and caregivers at the forefront of territory and account strategies.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient-journey obstacles.
• Highlight recurring customer, access, and patient-support challenges to internal teams.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Align account strategies across field roles and relay actionable insights from the field.
• Contribute to business reviews, training sessions, meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Function with ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, and resilience in a rapidly changing rare disease sector.
• Actively seek feedback, embrace coaching, and exemplify Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business outcomes in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; expertise in hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or another complex specialty is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and the capability to learn, retain, and communicate intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical data, and product information.
• Experience with account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services within rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to analyze performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into effective field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and relationship-building capabilities.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, and well-organized, with the ability to prioritize and operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional partnerships with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical behavior, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments.
