This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Achieve robust, sustainable business performance while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate expertise in clinical and account management related to rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies that enhance disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and support treatment initiation and adherence.
• Create and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional goals.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategy.
• Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Foster strategic accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks across pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish strong relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care teams.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts to secure appropriate next steps.
• Coordinate compliant actions across field partners for account management.
• Convey complex scientific and clinical information accurately and credibly.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer engagement strategies in line with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Influence various stakeholders, navigate challenges, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Keep patients and caregivers at the forefront of territory and account strategies.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services teams to address resources and barriers in the patient journey.
• Build alliances with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather and share actionable insights from the field.
• Participate in business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, and resilience in a fast-changing rare disease landscape.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and uphold ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful behavior.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven ability to consistently achieve business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Strong clinical knowledge and aptitude for learning, retaining, and articulating complex information about disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product specifics.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in utilizing insight-led or challenger-style selling methods to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and enhance customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement processes, patient support pathways, and services in the rare disease sector.
• Strong business acumen with the capacity to interpret performance data, derive insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into on-the-ground execution.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, judgment, and the capability to build trust with diverse customers.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and working independently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• A commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and authorized promotional strategies.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend duties.
