This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.
β’ Create and develop in-house test chips, testsites, and test structures to characterize semiconductor technologies and enhance the understanding of customer design and technology needs.
β’ Establish and execute chip-level and device-level structures that facilitate electrical measurements, technology characterization, and developmental insights.
β’ Work in collaboration with technology development, design enablement, product, test, and manufacturing teams to translate characterization necessities into testsite specifications and silicon implementations.
β’ Assess and process both internal and customer designs through to design-to-mask readiness, encompassing layout reviews and relevant design-rule verification and release activities.
β’ Strategize and carry out electrical characterization and other pertinent tests on fabricated test chips.
β’ Examine silicon data, recognize trends and performance deficiencies, and convert findings into suggestions for technology, model, design-rule, or testsite enhancements.
β’ Refine testsite and chip designs based on actual silicon outcomes.
β’ Document the architecture of testsites, design intentions, measurement outcomes, and technical conclusions, while communicating results to cross-functional stakeholders.
β’ Conduct activities in a safe manner and uphold Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and initiatives.
β’ Collaborate on additional projects and tasks as necessary.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Microelectronics, or a related technical discipline.
β’ Relevant experience in semiconductor IC or test-chip design, technology development, device characterization, product engineering, or a related area; minimum years of experience should align with the applicable GF career level and scoping guidelines.
β’ Proficient knowledge of semiconductor devices, integrated-circuit design or layout, electrical characterization, and interpretation of silicon measurement data.
β’ Experience with semiconductor design and verification processes such as schematic capture, layout, DRC/LVS, extraction, simulation, or design-to-mask release workflows.
β’ Capacity to analyze technical data, pinpoint root causes and trends, and convert findings into design or technology enhancements.
β’ Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
β’ Preferred: Masterβs degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, Microelectronics, or a related field.
β’ Preferred experience includes designing semiconductor test chips, process-control or characterization structures, or dedicated technology-development testsites.
β’ Preferred experience with industry-standard EDA environments and data-analysis tools used for IC design, verification, characterization, and silicon debugging.
β’ Preferred understanding of CMOS process technology, device physics, parasitic effects, process variation, reliability, and design-technology interaction.
β’ Preferred experience in working across design, process integration, characterization, modeling, PDK, test, or manufacturing organizations.
