Spacecraft ADCS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +25 more states.

📋 Description

• Design and develop guidance, navigation, and control architectures and algorithms within an embedded C++ environment.

• Establish requirements for ADCS algorithms, hardware, and associated systems for current missions and future roadmap development.

• Conduct analysis and simulation of mission-specific GNC performance.

• Collaborate on algorithms for ground processing related to sensor calibration.

• Work together on an offline geolocation processing pipeline.

• Assist in resolving anomalies for on-orbit systems, which includes on-call responsibilities.

• Aid in the planning, execution, and validation of software- and hardware-in-the-loop tests.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a comparable field, along with a minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience, OR several years of hands-on experience in GNC analysis and design.

• Proficiency in C++ programming.

• Strong understanding of control and optimization theory.

• Expertise in commonly used numerical programming environments (Python, Julia, MATLAB).

• Proven experience in designing, analyzing, and implementing ADCS/GNC subsystems for spacecraft.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and coordination abilities.

• US Government security clearance is a desirable asset.

• Experience in control stability analysis of flexible bodies is a plus.

• Familiarity with ADCS of precision pointing platforms is advantageous.

• Background in spacecraft flight operations is a benefit.
