Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct testing of products and solutions involving platform, functional, feature, solution, and regression assessments.

• Execute manual testing and develop or improve test automation through scripting techniques.

• Design and manage test environments effectively.

• Validate software releases and achieve quality benchmarks.

• Work alongside POC engineers on testing initiatives tailored for customers during proofs of concept.

• Partner with software, hardware, and support engineering teams to replicate issues.

• Frequently update test scripts to mitigate the reappearance of bugs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in testing, QA, or solutions testing positions.

• Practical testing experience is essential.

• In-depth knowledge of networking technologies, network protocols, network architectures, and deployments.

• Practical experience with a variety of Network Operating Systems (NOS), including IOS, IOS-XR, EOS, and Junos.

• Familiarity with well-established traffic generators and network testing hardware and software solutions.

• Experience with SONiC or another open-source operating system is highly advantageous.

• Capable of drafting effective test plans and diagnosing complex networking problems across both hardware and software.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, programming languages like C and C++, and automation tools including Ansible is a plus.

• Awareness of container technologies such as Docker and databases like SQL and NoSQL is a plus.
