Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain automated API testing procedures.

• Engage in the team's transition to Gonkey by transferring existing Java tests and developing new testing methodologies.

• Assist in maintaining the current Java test suite and work towards minimizing accumulated test coverage liabilities.

• Upgrade and broaden testing frameworks by introducing new functionalities and capabilities.

• Utilize AI tools for generating tests based on specifications, analyzing logs and failures, and supporting code reviews.

• Take part in code reviews across QA automation teams.

• Ensure compliance with the testing pyramid at all levels.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and Analytics in a cross-functional environment.

• Analyze daily automated test executions and address any failures.

• Enhance the reliability and coverage of API testing.

• Investigate failures across various services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in test automation using Java, specifically focused on API testing.

• Strong knowledge of REST/HTTP, JSON, and API contract testing.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL (proficient in SQL), and any messaging broker.

• Familiarity with Maven, TestNG, WireMock, and Jackson.

• Experience with Git and CI/CD processes (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).

• In-depth understanding of programming patterns and object-oriented programming principles.

• Proficient in test design skills: capable of building coverage from requirements and specifications, rather than merely automating existing cases.

• Ability to investigate service failures using logs, metrics, and databases.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) for test generation, code analysis, and log review.

• Openness to adopting new testing tools, including declarative YAML-based API testing (Gonkey).

• At least an intermediate level of English proficiency.

• Native-level proficiency in Russian.

• Experience in fintech or payment systems (including payment flows, callbacks, idempotency, and reconciliation) is a plus.

• Familiarity with declarative API testing tools is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Go is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with reporting systems (such as ReportPortal) is a plus.

• Experience with TypeScript and Playwright is desirable.

• Experience in creating AI-based tools or agents for QA functions is a plus.
