Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance quality practices.

• Create both manual and automated integration and system tests.

• Guarantee the quality of APIs and other services provided on Akamai Cloud.

• Ensure that the cloud platform is resilient, secure, and scalable.

• Analyze product designs, architecture, and specifications.

• Develop detailed test plans and carry out functional, load, and performance tests.

• Continuously contribute to test automation infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

• Write automated tests and review automation pull requests from peers.

• Collaborate with developers, SDET engineers, architects, and program managers across the globe.

• Aid in making decisions regarding release readiness and deployment timelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Strong grasp of SDLC and various testing methodologies.

• Over 6 years of experience in developing Python-based automation frameworks and testing REST/Open APIs.

• Practical experience with Unix/Linux environments and fundamental networking concepts (HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP).

• Proficient in Git, Jira, CI/CD tools (such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and basic MySQL database querying/schema design.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, scaling, and troubleshooting containerized applications.
