Software Development Engineer in Test, SDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, enhance, and maintain reusable automated testing frameworks and suites for intricate federal applications.

• Generate data-driven automated tests utilizing JSON, CSV, Excel, databases, or other external data sources.

• Implement the Page Object Model and object-oriented programming principles to boost test maintainability.

• Create and sustain functional, regression, smoke, integration, performance, and load tests.

• Integrate and execute automated tests within Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and DevSecOps pipelines.

• Monitor test outcomes, investigate failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to rectify defects.

• Update automated tests in response to changes in application features, user interfaces, and business requirements.

• Analyze application workflows and business rules to pinpoint reusable testing patterns and enhance automation coverage.

• Engage in peer code reviews and adhere to coding and automation standards.

• Work alongside developers, analysts, and manual QA team members to identify testing requirements and bridge coverage gaps.

• Stay updated on testing tools, libraries, and automation methodologies while providing recommendations.

• Maintain test plans, automation documentation, execution results, defect records, and testing metrics for contract and compliance purposes.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, release planning, and various team activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent education, training, or professional experience may be accepted.

• A minimum of three years of experience in automated software testing, test automation engineering, or an SDET role.

• Proficient in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java, Python, C#, TypeScript, or JavaScript.

• Practical experience in developing or maintaining automated testing frameworks.

• Familiarity with the Page Object Model or a similar automation design pattern.

• Experience in developing data-driven automated tests using external test data sources.

• Experience in integrating or executing automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficient with Git workflows, including branching, merging, pull requests, or code reviews.

• Experience with Agile or Scrum development environments and contemporary software quality assurance practices.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to document testing processes, defects, results, and technical findings clearly.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Active Secret clearance is required or the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
