This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +3 more states.
β’ Oversee all facets of sales, marketing, and account management within the designated territory.
β’ Enhance the company's market share by managing, nurturing, and expanding the current distributor network.
β’ Deliver exceptional customer service to support sales and profitability objectives.
β’ Address technical inquiries and installation requirements through in-depth product knowledge.
β’ Cultivate communication channels and relationships with distributors, engineers, and local governments.
β’ Analyze existing and prospective distributor volumes to target sales efforts effectively.
β’ Implement the company's pricing strategy to maintain sufficient margins and sales returns.
β’ Provide weekly updates to management regarding market conditions.
β’ Record customer interactions and manage opportunities using designated software.
β’ Resolve product-related issues both in the field and via phone support.
β’ Act as a liaison between end users, clients, and the company.
β’ Educate and train distributor sales personnel on product offerings and marketing strategies.
β’ Engage in trade associations, seminars, trade shows, and presentations.
β’ Communicate with the National Sales Manager about territory requirements, concerns, and resource allocation.
β’ Prepare pricing quotations and bids based on material insight and market dynamics.
β’ Monitor competitive activities, including pricing, products, delivery timelines, and marketing approaches.
β’ Uphold and advocate for The McWane Way principles.
β’ Carry out various sales and service tasks as assigned by management.
β’ Travel approximately 75% of the time while working about 25% from a home office.
β’ Must reside in the designated territory of Ohio, West Virginia, or Michigan, or be willing to relocate.
β’ A minimum of five years of industrial sales experience is required, ideally within the waterworks sector; or completion of the McWane Sales Trainee program.
β’ A bachelor's degree is preferred.
β’ Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
β’ Must possess self-motivation and self-direction.
β’ Ability to negotiate and finalize deals while maintaining a strong customer service focus is essential.
β’ A valid driver's license and a clean DMV driving record that qualifies for insurance are required.
β’ Must be physically and visually capable of disassembling moderate to complex mechanical products and conveying product details to customers and the factory.
β’ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical processes, and governmental regulations.
β’ Capacity to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
β’ Ability to present information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
β’ Proficiency in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
β’ Capability to resolve practical issues and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
β’ Familiarity with internet, inventory, manufacturing, order processing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
β’ Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
