This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +3 more states.
• Oversee all sales, marketing, and account management functions within the designated territories of Ohio, West Virginia, and Michigan.
• Increase company market share by effectively managing, sustaining, and expanding the current distributor network.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to support sales and profitability objectives.
• Assist with technical inquiries and installation requirements through comprehensive product knowledge.
• Establish communication channels and relationships with distributors, engineers, and municipalities.
• Analyze existing and prospective distributor volumes to direct sales efforts effectively.
• Implement pricing strategies to ensure sufficient account margins and returns.
• Provide weekly updates to management regarding market conditions.
• Record customer interactions and manage opportunities using designated software.
• Resolve product issues in the field and via phone support.
• Act as a liaison among end users, customers, and the organization.
• Educate and train distributor sales teams on current product and marketing information.
• Engage in trade associations, seminars, trade shows, and presentations.
• Communicate with the National Sales Manager about territory needs, concerns, and resource allocation.
• Prepare pricing quotes and bids based on material understanding and market conditions.
• Monitor competitors’ pricing, products, delivery timelines, and marketing strategies.
• Uphold and advocate for The McWane Way principles.
• Carry out other sales and service tasks as directed by management.
• Travel approximately 75% of the time while working 25% from a home office.
• Occasionally work in a traditional office and facility setting, with potential fieldwork in diverse weather and industrial conditions.
• Must reside in the assigned territory (Ohio, West Virginia, or Michigan) or be willing to relocate.
• A minimum of five years of industrial sales experience is required, preferably in the waterworks sector; or successful completion of the McWane Sales Trainee program.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
• Must be self-driven and capable of working independently.
• Ability to negotiate and finalize deals while maintaining an excellent customer service approach.
• Valid driver's license and a clean DMV driving record that is insurable.
• Physically and visually capable of disassembling moderate to complex mechanical products and conveying product details to customers and the factory.
• Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical manuals, and government regulations.
• Capable of composing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
• Skillful in presenting information and addressing inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Competent in solving practical problems and interpreting written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
• Familiarity with internet, inventory, manufacturing, order processing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements, including occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
