This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +3 more states.
• Oversee all sales, marketing, and account management functions for clients located in Ohio, West Virginia, and Michigan.
• Increase company market share by managing, nurturing, and expanding the current distributor network.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to support sales and profitability targets.
• Assist with technical inquiries and installation requirements through comprehensive product knowledge.
• Build communication networks and foster relationships with distributors, engineers, and municipalities.
• Analyze existing and potential distributor volumes to concentrate sales efforts effectively.
• Implement the company’s pricing strategy to ensure sufficient margins and sales returns.
• Provide weekly updates to management regarding market conditions.
• Record customer interactions and manage opportunities within designated software.
• Resolve product issues both in the field and via phone support.
• Serve as a liaison between end-users, clients, and the company.
• Educate and train distributor sales personnel on product and marketing information.
• Engage in trade associations, seminars, trade shows, and presentations.
• Maintain communication with the National Sales Manager regarding territory requirements, concerns, and resource distribution.
• Prepare price quotes and bids based on material knowledge and current market conditions.
• Monitor competitors' pricing, products, delivery timelines, and marketing strategies.
• Uphold and advocate for The McWane Way principles.
• Carry out various sales and service tasks as assigned by management.
• Spend approximately 75% of time traveling in the field and 25% working from a home office.
• Must reside in the designated territory (Ohio, West Virginia, or Michigan) or be willing to relocate.
• A minimum of five years of industrial sales experience is required, preferably within the waterworks industry, or completion of the McWane Sales Trainee program.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals while maintaining an excellent customer service approach.
• A valid driver's license and a clean, insurable DMV driving record are required.
• Physically and visually capable of dismantling moderate to complex mechanical products and explaining product details to customers and the factory.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Competence in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Proficient in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Capability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
• Familiarity with internet, inventory, manufacturing, order processing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must undergo a drug screen, physical examination, and background check if offered the position.
• Expected travel is approximately 75%.
