This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.
• Implement the sales strategy for the business segment through direct engagement with designated customers.
• Establish long-lasting business-to-business relationships.
• Foster growth of new customers while safeguarding and enhancing revenue and contribution margin from existing clientele.
• Engage in segment strategy development and assist in gathering customer insights.
• Recognize opportunities and cultivate business alliances with both new and current customers.
• Create prospect lists and build a focused pipeline using industry resources, trade shows, online platforms, and referrals.
• Formulate strategies to meet the sales objectives by adhering to disciplined 80/20 sales methodologies.
• Travel within the assigned territory to engage with regular and potential clients, nurture relationships, and secure orders.
• Sustain relationships with owners, executives, purchasing agents, accounts payable, and other key stakeholders.
• Organize customer training sessions and facilitate product/program adoption.
• Relay changes in customer ownership, personnel, and locations to company leadership.
• Showcase products using samples or catalogs while articulating their value and unique features.
• Provide pricing and credit terms within established guidelines and generate sales contracts.
• Create business transaction reports and manage expense accounts in accordance with company policy.
• Conduct market research and track trends, competition, and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with branch locations to keep account activities, challenges, and needs transparent and updated.
• Participate in trade shows and association exhibitions as necessary.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution or 3–5 years of relevant experience/training; equivalent combinations will be considered.
• Capability to read and comprehend safety guidelines, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Competence in writing standard reports and correspondence.
• Effective verbal communication skills with customers and team members.
• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
• Proficiency in contact management/CRM software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Understanding and application of 80/20 business principles.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to 85% of the time.
• Strong customer-facing presence with the ability to build trust and influence within customer organizations.
• Proven success in acquiring new customers and driving profitable account growth.
• Skills in pipeline management, follow-up, and accurate forecasting/reporting.
• Ability to work independently in a vast territory while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
• Capability to frequently communicate verbally or audibly; regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Regular visits to job sites may be required; may involve climbing ladders and walking on roofs or similar surfaces.
