This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Identify and secure new retail locations within the designated area using diverse sales tactics and strategies.
• Manage and expand territory-focused accounts through relationships with headquarters and collaborative business planning.
• Develop and sustain robust distribution and store-level relationships, delivering exceptional service and support.
• Achieve and surpass sales objectives, oversee trade expenditure and travel budget, and promote product adoption.
• Provide precise and timely sales forecasts and reports to the sales management team.
• Track, adapt to, and report on market trends and competitive activities within the territory.
• Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and client satisfaction.
• Guarantee the flawless execution of new product launches, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Participate in industry events, including distributor and retailer exhibitions, to represent the brands, broaden the network, and stay informed on industry trends.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of pet brands, the independent pet channel, and the overall pet industry.
• Strong comprehension of the pet industry, including the operations of pet distributors and retailers.
• Familiarity with sales management within the retail sector, encompassing market dynamics and strategies.
• Ability to cultivate and sustain mutually advantageous relationships with focused accounts.
• A sense of curiosity and dedication to continuous growth, keeping updated on industry trends and identifying new opportunities.
• Proficient in strategic planning to optimize sales within the assigned territory.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through abilities to ensure tasks are completed accurately.
• Comprehensive understanding of how regional chains function and experience in collaborating with headquarters personnel.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes, especially in launching new brands and products, adjusting strategies and tactics as needed.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of experience in the Pet Industry selling to retailers at the store level.
• 3 years of experience selling through distributor sales representatives.
• 75% travel required annually.
