This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee customer accounts while identifying and cultivating new prospects for FMC products.
• Emphasize achieving sales targets, fostering business development, nurturing customer relationships, and addressing customer concerns.
• Formulate and implement account strategies, negotiating to achieve sales goals while considering profit margins and revenue.
• Establish and maintain strong business relationships with customers.
• Prepare sales presentations, call strategies, proposals, and performance reports.
• Gather and share market intelligence related to sales volumes.
• Anticipate customer business requirements and plans.
• Collect and relay information about competitive practices, assisting in evaluating competitive data.
• Discover and develop new business opportunities to enhance sales for both existing and new accounts.
• Facilitate interactions between customers and technical or supply chain teams to deliver value-added services.
• Recognize opportunities and implement suitable actions.
• Operate within a customer segmentation framework, taking into account account financials.
• Collaborate with fellow sales professionals and corporate commercial teams.
• Report to and partner with the Regional Business Manager to meet regional and expense objectives.
• Provide FMC product suggestions to customers and stakeholders while expanding FMC’s presence in East-Central Illinois.
• Align distributor and retail account efforts with territorial and regional strategies.
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Agriculture or a related Life Science, along with 5+ years of pertinent sales experience, or a High School Diploma with 8+ years of relevant sales experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in sales.
• Proficient in making data-driven decisions using CRM systems.
• Understanding of core principles in value selling and agronomy.
• Experience in facilitating and executing complex projects.
• Strong financial literacy and business acumen.
• Proven ability to drive new and existing business opportunities with key accounts, including national accounts, within a sales territory.
• Capable of making decisions with minimal supervision and handling complex choices within operational guidelines.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment with management oversight.
• Skilled in negotiating with middle to senior management levels.
• Experienced in leading projects or special assignments that involve working beyond the designated area/region.
• Demonstrated history of making an immediate impact on sales within a specific territory.
• Proficient in executing projects independently.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time to fulfill territory responsibilities.
• Certification as a Crop Advisor or possession of an MBA is a plus.
