This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +11 more states.
• Formulate and implement territory sales strategies that align with NCC's business goals and growth objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within the automation, packaging, consumer products, food and beverage, life sciences, automotive, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
• Enhance NCC's market presence through proactive prospecting and relationship cultivation.
• Create strategic plans to penetrate targeted accounts and emerging markets.
• Build and sustain relationships with executive decision-makers, engineering teams, operations leaders, and procurement stakeholders.
• Oversee existing customer accounts and recognize opportunities for revenue growth and account expansion.
• Coordinate customer interactions with engineering, operations, project management, and leadership teams.
• Manage sales opportunities from lead generation to proposal development, negotiation, award, and project implementation.
• Facilitate solution-oriented sales discussions and ascertain customer business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional resources to produce competitive proposals and presentations.
• Assist in contract negotiations and commercial discussions.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline to achieve or surpass territory objectives.
• Research and analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities.
• Represent NCC at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings.
• Keep customer records, opportunity tracking, and sales forecasts updated in the CRM system.
• Provide updates on pipeline activity, territory performance, and key account developments.
• Monitor and report sales metrics and business development activities.
• Deliver market intelligence and customer insights to inform strategic business decisions.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• A combination of education and relevant industry experience may also be considered.
• At least five (5) years of experience in industrial or technical sales.
• Proven experience selling automation systems, packaging equipment, capital equipment, manufacturing services, engineered solutions, or related products.
• Demonstrated success in generating new business and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
• Strong preference for candidates with manufacturing, automation, or industrial systems experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial automation solutions.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with executive leadership, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders.
• Strong business development and consultative selling skills.
• Proven ability to influence decision-makers throughout complex sales cycles.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.
• Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
• Ability to visit customer sites, manufacturing facilities, trade shows, and industry events.
• Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment.
• Capability to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively for extended periods.
