This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Strategically oversee a portfolio of designated agencies and accounts in accordance with the company's business plan, growth goals, and underwriting preferences.
• Evaluate agency performance and premium management to uncover opportunities for profitable policy and premium enhancement.
• Utilize data-driven insights to prioritize initiatives, create tactical account strategies, and enhance performance across Specialty Auto lines.
• Implement the company’s marketing, sales, and distribution strategies with specific quantitative targets.
• Independently or collaboratively execute special zone or departmental initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Advocate for the company’s value proposition and product offerings to stimulate new business production, retention, and sustainable growth.
• Formulate, communicate, and track regional growth strategies and objectives.
• Convert high-level strategies into actionable plans, set performance metrics, and evaluate outcomes.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry practices, standards, regulations, and competitive landscapes.
• Oversee sales activities across the assigned territory and other designated regions.
• Organize and prioritize business travel to enhance agency engagement, market presence, and territory performance.
• Cultivate and sustain consultative relationships with agency partners through personal visits, agency meetings, and professional engagements.
• Address agency concerns by coordinating with service, underwriting, licensing, and product teams.
• Establish, monitor, and manage profitability targets for assigned brokers and agencies.
• Take ownership of production outcomes within the assigned territory and achieve or surpass annual growth and performance objectives.
• Report on sales performance, forecasts, pipeline activity, and results to management.
• Maintain market and competitive analysis covering market opportunities, company and competitor market shares, and availability by product line.
• Identify and relay industry shifts, competitor strategies, and emerging trends.
• Suggest best practices, process enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• High School diploma or GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Field Representative or Account Manager working with independent agents and brokers in the specialty auto property and casualty insurance sector.
• Established knowledge of and relationships with Specialty Auto independent agency owners and relevant trade associations within the state.
• Proven ability to manage increasing levels of responsibility and complexity within territories.
• Strong understanding of insurance terminology, concepts, and coverage, with a focus on specialty auto products.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry publications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Consistent adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to effectively communicate with all organizational levels.
• Proven ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of different audiences, situations, and business requirements.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to address practical problems, analyze concrete variables, and interpret instructions provided in various formats.
• Capacity to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, field-based environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and capability to utilize internet-based tools.
• Ability to adapt to new software, evolving technology, and a paperless work environment.
• Capability to leverage technology for efficient management of accounts, travel, and reporting responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must reside within the assigned territory.
• Must maintain a designated remote workstation that ensures privacy and supports confidential business operations.
