This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Cultivate and enhance relationships with current and potential contractors, builders, utilities, program partners, and other industry stakeholders.
• Discover and pursue new business opportunities for high-efficiency HVAC systems, heat pump water heaters, and associated conservation products and programs.
• Maintain a consistent calling schedule with existing accounts while actively seeking new customers.
• Comprehend customer requirements and suggest suitable products, program options, and solutions.
• Deliver product education, technical details, and sales assistance using product samples, literature, and manufacturer resources.
• Assist customers with quotes, product availability, rebate and incentive program information, as well as alternative product suggestions.
• Provide on-site and field support as required to aid contractors in effectively specifying, installing, and selling products.
• Organize and participate in contractor training sessions, utility meetings, product demonstrations, trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.
• Collaborate with manufacturer representatives and program partners to enhance customer relationships and promote key product lines.
• Follow up after sales and customer interactions to ensure satisfaction, address concerns, and identify future opportunities.
• Communicate customer activities, opportunities, and concerns with inside sales and other internal team members.
• Maintain precise account notes, opportunity information, expense records, and other necessary reports.
• Stay updated on product developments, conservation programs, utility incentives, industry trends, and customer needs.
• Represent General Pacific in a professional manner and contribute to maintaining the company’s service-first reputation with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Preferred experience in outside sales.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building products, energy efficiency, or a related field.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment, heat pump water heaters, contractor distribution, utility programs, or energy-efficiency incentives is advantageous.
• Proven ability to build relationships, identify opportunities, and independently manage a sales territory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to effectively interact with contractors, utilities, manufacturers, and internal teams.
• Ability to learn about technical products and effectively communicate product features as practical benefits to customers.
• Organized, reliable, and adept at prioritizing multiple customer needs and opportunities.
• Proficient in computer skills and comfortable using email, spreadsheets, online research tools, and customer-account tracking systems.
• Willing to learn and consistently utilize a CRM system.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements.
• Capable of regular travel by vehicle throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington and occasionally attend overnight events.
