This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee a designated territory and enhance sales of BD products within the Advanced Repair and Reconstruction sector.
• Achieve sales targets set by the company while adhering to the budget for the assigned territory.
• Increase sales in existing accounts and create new client relationships.
• Act as a product authority, offering presentations, education, and in-services on the correct use of products.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the ARR product lineup.
• Provide on-site technical assistance during surgical procedures.
• Educate and train physicians and hospital personnel.
• Ensure that surgeons and staff have up-to-date product information and utilize products effectively.
• Achieve sales and profitability goals for the territory.
• Update customers regarding pricing, backorders, and company policies.
• Implement sales strategies, tactics, and processes effectively.
• Observe competitive activities, market trends, and competitor strategies.
• Evaluate territory sales performance and create actionable plans.
• Attend regional and national trade shows and sales meetings.
• Engage in seminars, roundtables, advisory boards, and other local events.
• Organize call planning, manage expenses, forecast sales, and allocate territory resources.
• Collaborate with various departments and functions to achieve business objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, distributors, sales representatives, clinical staff, and healthcare professionals.
• Keep open lines of communication with sales teams, customer service, sales management, and home office associates.
• Adhere to BD's quality standards, complaint-reporting, Commercial Excellence, and BD Way of Selling procedures.
• Maintain clinical knowledge pertinent to the product portfolio.
• Travel to address Surgery customer requirements and undertake other assigned tasks.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• At least 4 years of general sales experience; experience in medical sales is preferred.
• Capacity to work respectfully in an operating room, observe surgeries, and stand for long periods.
• Comprehensive understanding of the needs/analysis approach to sales.
• Familiarity with the product buyer concept.
• Knowledge of contract administration.
• Understanding of group purchasing principles, including research, proposal development, and recommendations.
• Proven leadership capabilities.
• Proficient in conveying complex concepts through effective writing and speaking.
• Skillful in analyzing data and presenting insights for business decisions.
• Strong persuasion and influence abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with personnel, physicians, and administrators.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Self-driven, capable of taking on additional responsibilities and balancing priorities with minimal supervision.
• Sound judgment and professional demeanor.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with hospitals, sales personnel, and home-office staff.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Ability to present information and address inquiries from healthcare professionals, executives, managers, clients, and customers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel up to 80%, including multiple overnight stays.
• Must hold and retain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record according to the Company’s standards.
• Must possess and maintain a criminal background that meets BD's standards.
• Must fulfill and uphold customer/medical facility access requirements, including necessary drug screenings with acceptable results.
• Must maintain vendor credentialing.
• Must adhere to applicable BD policies, rules, procedures, quality processes, and the Code of Ethics.
• Competitive base salary with incentive: $125,992 - $207,888.
