This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Oversee the Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois region to enhance the growth of Neogen Food Safety products and solutions.
• Create and implement sales strategies for the territory that align with business objectives.
• Achieve revenue, profitability, and forecasting goals.
• Conduct planning for territory and accounts involving direct customers, channel partners, key accounts, and targeted market segments.
• Discover new sales opportunities, cultivate qualified leads, and finalize business to meet or surpass sales objectives.
• Modify sales strategies in response to evolving market conditions, customer demands, and competitive dynamics.
• Collaborate across functions with internal teams to support clients and promote business growth.
• Independently manage and expand the business within the designated geographic area.
• Establish and nurture relationships with both existing and potential customers.
• Generate new business through prospecting, lead generation, and account development.
• Close sales and expand revenue through effective communication, consultation, and solution-oriented selling.
• Assess customer needs and propose suitable solutions.
• Articulate the features, benefits, and value of Neogen products.
• Keep precise records of customer interactions, opportunities, and account activities.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and webinars.
• Prepare responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, customer events, and other marketing initiatives.
• Comprehend pricing structures and perform pricing calculations.
• Investigate market requirements, trends, customer needs, and relevant market information.
• Stay informed about competitive products, pricing, positioning, and marketing strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Neogen products and solutions.
• Demonstrate and clarify product applications, installation methods, and best practices.
• Work in partnership with sales, technical, marketing, customer service, and operational teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, another scientific discipline, Business, Sales, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience managing a sales territory successfully.
• Established record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and forecasts.
• Strong skills in time management, organization, and territory planning.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
• High attention to detail and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience with Salesforce or another Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
• Familiarity with solution-selling or consultative-selling techniques.
• Proficient computer skills, including expertise with Microsoft Office.
• Capability to work independently while effectively collaborating across teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
• Domestic travel may reach up to 75% of the time.
• Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move items weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
