This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, delivering account management support to healthcare professionals and their teams on behalf of patients.
• Offer continuous education regarding the Patient Services program, the regional payer landscape, and access to pharmacy channels.
• Facilitate pull-through efforts for patients with prescriptions across HUB, specialty pharmacy, and other avenues, ensuring proper HIPAA consent is obtained.
• Represent the Patient Services platforms in designated healthcare provider offices.
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient access to the product.
• Cultivate advocacy within healthcare provider offices and inform staff about access and payer approval processes.
• Identify barriers to access and pinpoint necessary actions from healthcare providers to address them.
• Supply educational materials to support prior authorizations, appeals, specialty pharmacy needs, and resolution of access issues.
• Organize the utilization of patient service platforms and manage annual pharmacy reauthorizations.
• Work collaboratively across departments, including Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, and Strategic Accounts.
• Recognize and tackle urgent market development and implementation tasks to eliminate access barriers and enhance adherence.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans for key accounts and market access initiatives.
• Stay informed about national, regional, and local payer landscapes, specialty pharmacy, formularies, and utilization management standards.
• Provide field insights that support access and programs for patient/payer assistance.
• Anticipate, navigate, and resolve issues related to account and patient access.
• Show a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A healthcare-related degree is preferred, such as MS, RN, PA, PharmD, or a similar advanced healthcare/scientific qualification.
• Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in payer policy and patient access.
• At least 5 years of experience in benefit verifications and/or prior authorization requirements, or equivalent experience in patient access.
• Familiarity with CMS policies and processes, including Medicare Parts B & D.
• Understanding of specialty markets, HUB/reimbursement services, and patient access programs.
• Strong grasp of specialty product access/reimbursement processes and Patient Support Services programs.
• Excellent analytical abilities to evaluate market dynamics, competitor activities, and ongoing trends in diabetes monitoring.
• Capability to collect and interpret data to inform regional strategies, including HUB and patient claims data.
• Knowledge of Integrated Delivery Networks/Integrated Health Systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications and the ability to facilitate virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities with outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record of success in a cross-functional work environment.
• Competence in delivering impactful educational presentations.
• Strong familiarity with Veeva systems.
• Experience in Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Endocrinology is preferred.
• Previous experience in an Access/Reimbursement role during product launches is preferred.
• Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in areas like product marketing, managed care, field sales, case management, or large healthcare practice is beneficial.
