This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana, +3 more states.
• Oversee the Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana regions to foster the growth of Neogen Food Safety products and solutions.
• Create and implement territory sales strategies that align with business objectives.
• Achieve revenue, profitability, and forecasting goals.
• Conduct territory and account planning for direct customers, channel partners, key accounts, and targeted market segments.
• Discover new sales opportunities, cultivate qualified leads, and finalize deals to meet or exceed sales objectives.
• Adapt sales strategies in response to evolving market conditions, customer demands, and competitive activity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to assist customers and stimulate business growth.
• Independently oversee and expand business operations within the designated territory.
• Establish and nurture relationships with both existing and potential customers.
• Generate new business through prospecting, lead generation, and account management efforts.
• Secure and expand sales through effective communication, consultation, and solution-oriented selling.
• Assess customer needs and propose suitable solutions.
• Articulate the features, benefits, and value of Neogen products.
• Keep precise records of customer interactions, opportunities, and account activities.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and webinars.
• Prepare responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Attend and engage in trade shows, conferences, customer events, and various marketing activities.
• Understand pricing structures and execute pricing calculations.
• Investigate market requirements, trends, customer preferences, and pertinent market data.
• Stay informed about competitive products, pricing, positioning, and marketing strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Neogen products and solutions.
• Demonstrate and clarify product applications, installation techniques, and best practices.
• Partner with internal sales, technical, marketing, customer service, and operational teams.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or another scientific discipline, Business, Sales, or a related field.
• Proven success in managing a sales territory.
• Established track record of meeting or surpassing sales targets and forecasts.
• Strong time management, organizational, and territory planning capabilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Attention to detail and strong critical-thinking skills.
• Experience with Salesforce or another Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
• Familiarity with solution-selling or consultative-selling methodologies.
• Proficient computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory and perform essential job functions in various customer environments, including manufacturing facilities, laboratories, warehouses, and production areas.
• Domestic travel may reach up to 75%.
• Must be capable of occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving items weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
