This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Manage accounts and target sales for industrial, data center, hospital, and electrical contractor clients.
• Promote Shermco’s electrical testing, maintenance, repair, and engineering services.
• Engage in direct sales and business development efforts to expand and retain business.
• Assess prospective sales opportunities and decide which to pursue.
• Achieve annual multi-million-dollar sales targets.
• Identify, create, and implement effective sales strategies.
• Assist with estimates, sales proposals, and presentations.
• Regularly visit assigned accounts to nurture strategic relationships and identify changes and opportunities.
• Support road shows, conferences, tradeshows, sales training sessions, and engagement activities.
• Manage pricing and channel concerns, including competitive quotes and cross-selling conflicts.
• Provide support to accounts through sales, purchase orders, terms and conditions, and customer relations.
• Conduct job walks and act as a liaison between sales and production teams.
• Facilitate lunch-and-learn sessions and lead customer discussions.
• Collaborate with Customer Service to improve the customer purchasing experience.
• Assist with Shermco training events and trade shows.
• Enter sales activities into CRM systems.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and experience in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful outside B2B sales experience.
• Preferably experienced in engineering, industrial, or heavy commercial sectors.
• Proven sales success in a power-related industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with high-voltage electrical equipment testing and maintenance is preferred.
• Experience in electrical field services, commissioning, acceptance testing, engineering studies, or electrical T&D/substation construction is preferred.
• Highly desirable experience with OEMs, electrical contractors, or commissioning agents.
• Self-motivated and directed individual.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and oral presentation skills.
• Understanding of profitability and financial metrics.
• Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
• Capable of interacting with customer decision-makers and influencers.
• Ability to identify new customers and project future business opportunities.
• Technical knowledge and consultative skills are essential.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and drive regularly.
• Must be able to pass fit-for-duty physical examinations.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
• Willingness to travel overnight approximately 10–20% of the time.
• Ability to drive for extended periods, work at a desk/cubicle on a PC, and visit and tour customer sites.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
