Tenable Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Diagnose and resolve engineering challenges within the production ACAS environment for the Department of the Air Force.

• Conduct troubleshooting, document standard operating procedures (SOPs), and collaborate on strategies for issue identification and resolution to address tickets.

• Address vulnerabilities, plug-in/protocol errors, credential/firewall challenges, service certificate problems, patching, and data feed issues.

• Ensure the operational integrity of the ACAS environment, which includes Nessus, Nessus Manager, Nessus Agents, Log Correlation Engine, Nessus Network Monitor, and Security Center across both Linux/Unix and Windows platforms.

• Maintain compliance with organizational security policies and adhere to industry best practices.

• Formulate and implement strategies aimed at minimizing future engineering problems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate root-cause findings and execute remediation plans.

• Regularly document and report ticket statuses in ServiceNow at least every other day.

• Enhance, develop, and maintain the Tenable Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).

• Engage with Azure Cloud, Red Hat Linux, Tenable ACAS software solutions, and scripting languages including Python and PowerShell.

• Create and implement process and practice enhancements.

• Develop automation scripts and improve coding efficiencies.

• Coordinate with the Engineering Resolution Lead Engineer, ACAS Solution Architect, Chief Architect, and Chief Engineer; report directly to the ACAS Project Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possession of an active Secret security clearance is mandatory.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience (a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may substitute for 5 years of experience).

• A minimum of 7 years of experience with ACAS Solutions; Tenable preferred, with at least 5 years of direct experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in deploying, automating, and hardening Red Hat Linux Operating Systems.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience supporting the Department of Defense.

• Exceptional communication skills, with experience in briefing internal project team members and DAF stakeholders.

• CISSP or an equivalent DoD 8140 Certification Compliance certification is required.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies and services, such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.

• Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and other necessary scripting languages.

• Experience with Tenable software solutions for ACAS.

• Competence with Azure Cloud and Red Hat Linux.

• Ability to successfully pass Department of the Air Force internal Gate Reviews without rejection.

• Capability to update active ENG queue tickets at least every 2 days.

• Skill in brainstorming solutions ad hoc with the project team without referring to existing solution materials.

• Commitment to implementing one process improvement each quarter.
