Senior Healthcare Interface Engineer – Remote Opportunity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and establish secure, scalable integrations between healthcare applications, data sources, and external systems.

• Design and set up MLLP gateways, Apache NiFi pipelines, Open Integration Engine adapters, and healthcare interfaces.

• Build and maintain bidirectional CHIE and partner exchange integrations for EHR, claims, and public health feeds.

• Assess current systems, interface needs, and data flows to outline integration solutions.

• Conduct data mapping, transformation, message routing, interface setup, testing, and provide production support.

• Diagnose intricate interface and data flow challenges.

• Document technical solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Work alongside architects, FHIR engineers, developers, testers, onboarding teams, and external partners.

• Contribute to team goals and project achievements by taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 10 or more years of relevant software integration engineering experience.

• Proficiency in developing healthcare interfaces utilizing HL7 v2 and MLLP.

• Experience in configuring Apache NiFi pipelines and Open Integration Engine adapters.

• Strong expertise in data mapping, transformation, message routing, and troubleshooting complex interfaces.

• Capability to communicate technical requirements and insights effectively to both internal teams and external partners.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with architecture, engineering, testing, and onboarding teams.

• Familiarity with Java, scripting, XML, JSON, SQL, and API integration.

• Experience in integrating EHR, claims, public health, HIE, or CHIE data.

• Background in supporting federal Health IT programs, including VA, DHA, or HHS.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including necessary fingerprinting when required.
