This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Center’s Technology Development Directorate.
• Participate in the assessment and advancement of next-generation Army aviation concepts.
• Utilize and enhance design tools.
• Create methodologies for cost estimation.
• Conduct system-level analyses that encompass cost and performance evaluations.
• Review and optimize aircraft cost estimates, technology assumptions, technical solutions, and risk assessments.
• Formulate and fine-tune cost estimating relationships for both aircraft lifecycle and component-level costs.
• Execute multidisciplinary trade studies in collaboration with Conceptual Design and Assessment stakeholders.
• Lead trade decisions and suggest requirements to enhance system performance, cost efficiency, and mission effectiveness.
• Provide insights into the operational effectiveness and affordability of proposed air vehicle concepts.
• Employ government-standard tools like NASA Design and Analysis of Rotorcraft (NDARC) for in-depth aircraft modeling and performance evaluation.
• Evaluate current and emerging technologies through cost-benefit analysis.
• Assist in system-level evaluations of component technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in conceptual design of rotorcraft or air vehicle design, including performance evaluation, cost estimation, and weight analysis.
• Proven experience in developing Cost Estimating Relationships for aircraft systems or lifecycle costs.
• Familiarity with aircraft design and analysis tools such as NDARC and Air Vehicle Integrated Design Environment (AIDEN).
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
