This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as a messenger and representative of the organization's faith, mission, and purpose.
• Engage with companies, their personnel, and the surrounding community.
• Regularly visit company worksites, generally on a weekly basis.
• Visit employees or their immediate family members in hospitals, long-term care facilities, retirement homes, funeral homes, private residences, or other locations.
• Offer confidential pastoral conversations and guide individuals to appropriate resources.
• Organize specialized assistance for employees or their immediate family members.
• Participate in the planning or execution of funerals and provide bereavement follow-up support.
• Conduct visits to correctional facilities as needed.
• Collaborate with companies in the event of deaths, serious injuries, and other tragedies.
• Assist employees who have experienced layoffs or terminations during their career transitions.
• Facilitate spiritual enrichment activities.
• Supply literature and resources addressing various life challenges.
• Represent companies to their clients in suitable contexts.
• Take part in new-employee orientations and present the support service.
• Execute additional responsibilities as requested by senior management, with proper authorization.
• Capability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team in an interfaith setting.
• Willingness to embrace diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Exceptional listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, employees, and their families.
• Competence in delivering presentations to community audiences.
• Ability to intervene effectively with families and staff in high-stress situations.
• Spiritual maturity and a commitment to a Christian lifestyle, along with the values of MCC/MCHAP ministry.
• Basic understanding of the Holy Bible and its appropriate application.
• Profession of saving faith in Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Bible-based church.
• Proven ability to interact professionally, diplomatically, patiently, and courteously with diverse groups.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective, harmonious working relationships while providing exceptional service.
• Capability to make administrative and procedural decisions and exercise judgment regarding sensitive and confidential matters.
• Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Emotional resilience to manage human suffering, emergencies, and other stressors.
• Ability to analyze information, identify solutions, and resolve problems.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace/Google Suite, Microsoft Office, the Internet, email, and web applications.
• Willingness to understand and learn new technological tools.
• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance; active state driver’s license and state-minimum auto insurance required when servicing clients.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and reference check.
• Part-time schedule of 5 hours.
• Remote work in the field.
• No guaranteed minimum hours; assigned hours are typically consistent from week to week.
