This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Deliver clinically appropriate outpatient mental health services alongside co-occurring substance use disorder support.
• Primarily engage in individual psychotherapy sessions.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat mental health and substance use issues under the supervision of the Mental Health Director.
• Provide crisis intervention along with brief behavioral interventions.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments for gender-affirming surgery and prepare timely letters of support.
• Facilitate group psychotherapy sessions, conducting one group per week.
• Make appropriate referrals both internally and externally while offering clinical case management.
• De-escalate clients who are experiencing mental health emergencies or heightened emotional distress.
• Assist clients in accessing benefits and support services.
• Participate in weekly mental health team meetings, one-on-one supervision sessions, and monthly Collaborative Care meetings.
• Achieve visit-number and quality benchmarks, including three scheduled visits per half day.
• Finalize surgery support letters within one month of assessment.
• Respond to inbox messages and complete visit notes within a 72-hour timeframe.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and undertake other assigned responsibilities.
• A master’s degree from an accredited program in social work, marriage & family therapy, licensed professional clinical counseling, or psychology (PsyD or PhD).
• For Associate Therapists: California licensure as an ASW, AMFT, or RPA.
• For Licensed Therapists: California licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Psychologist.
• Experience and dedication to providing health care for the LGBTQIA+ community, including trans, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and intersex individuals.
• Experience working with diverse populations with varying disabilities, racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, as well as different economic statuses.
• Familiarity with individuals involved in sex work, those experiencing homelessness, individuals with mental health issues and/or substance use challenges, people with incarceration histories, and varied age groups.
• A strong interest in and commitment to gender-affirming health care and access for underserved communities.
• Cultural sensitivity and humility; adept at working with a diverse clientele.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook, along with internet applications, Zoom, and general computer and phone technology.
• Preferred: bilingual fluency in Spanish/English; other bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Preferred: training in EMDR, DBT, or CBT.
• May be required to work some evenings.
• Employees scheduled for 16 or more hours per week are eligible for full benefits.
• Earn an additional $1 per working hour for certified bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Chinese, or Tagalog.
• Enjoy 100% remote work.
• Flexible working hours ranging from 4 to 40 hours per week.
