Telehealth Registered Dietitian, Obesity Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough nutrition evaluations through virtual or telehealth consultations.

• Offer Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for obesity and associated chronic illnesses.

• Create personalized nutrition care strategies.

• Provide nutrition education and guidance utilizing motivational interviewing and behavior-change techniques.

• Foster patient engagement via effective communication and address clinical issues as necessary.

• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, health coaches, and care coordinators.

• Engage in care planning and case discussions as required.

• Record interactions, assessments, and care strategies in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

• Effectively employ telehealth and patient engagement tools.

• Participate in the development of clinical programs, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary care innovations when opportunities arise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential in good standing.

• Active Licensed Dietitian (LD/LDN) or Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CD/CDN) license in the relevant state(s).

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.

• Clinical or ambulatory experience in providing nutrition counseling or Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) (required).

• Experience with obesity, weight management, chronic conditions, and telehealth (preferred).

• Strong skills in patient-centered counseling and documentation.

• Ability to work comfortably within interdisciplinary teams.

• Proficient with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and telehealth platforms.

• Access to reliable internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace.

• Adhere to licensure standards and maintain HIPAA compliance.
