Technician 1, AES

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +22 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert broadcast power support for live sports and media events with networks such as ESPN, NBC, and CBS.

• Engage in a variety of temporary event power initiatives featuring scalable, secure, and sound-attenuated power generation customized to meet venue requirements.

• Install, commission, maintain, and repair generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution systems, HVAC equipment, and/or OFA systems.

• Perform installation and commissioning for Event Services and other intricate projects.

• Diagnose equipment malfunctions in Event Services and service centers.

• Calculate nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW specifications using mathematical formulas.

• Execute minor repairs and significant overhauls promptly, adhering to standards and budget constraints.

• Collaborate with a remote operations center to mitigate failures, design proactive alerts, and ensure compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside near an Aggreko facility, with the possibility of up to 75% travel.

• Capable of extensive travel, up to 75%, and being away for long durations.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent professional experience.

• Prior experience in event and entertainment sectors.

• Proficient in servicing, testing, and installing commercial HVAC or industrial diesel generators.

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.

• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to OSHA, EPA, and other necessary safety regulations.

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to job sites as needed, and remain on standby outside of regular shifts.

• Must successfully pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment.

• Capable of lifting 60 lbs., pushing/pulling 80 lbs., carrying 60 lbs., climbing stairs and ladders, and performing climbing tasks while carrying 15-lb. objects, as well as stooping, kneeling, and squatting.

• Able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and navigate uneven terrain with functional balance.

• Competent in moving extremities and spine through a functional range of motion from ground/floor level to full overhead level.

• Good finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and functional grip strength to safely handle tools and navigate stair railings or ladders.
