This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Create and sustain technical documentation, which includes admin installation guides, API references, system architecture diagrams, and additional artifacts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect technical inputs and ensure content accuracy.
• Maintain documentation to reflect system updates and new releases.
• Develop and manage security and compliance documentation necessary for Authority to Operate (ATO) status.
• Establish and uphold configuration management policies, procedures, and Configuration Management Plans (CMPs).
• Define configuration identification schemes and naming conventions for Configuration Items (CIs).
• Perform CI audits, reviews, and verification activities.
• Oversee functional, allocated, and product baselines throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Coordinate release planning, deployment activities, and reviews conducted by government oversight.
• Integrate configuration management processes with SAFe/Agile methodologies.
• Leverage AWS tools and services for documenting and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Align documentation and configuration management practices with AWS best practices and compliance standards.
• Act as a vital contributor on the Platform team, supporting a government client within a secure AWS environment.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• 3+ years of experience in configuration management for complex technical systems, including baseline management and change control.
• 3+ years of experience in technical writing, evidenced by a portfolio of published technical documents.
• Practical experience with DevOps tools and workflows, including GitLab.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Certification or formal training related to technical writing, configuration management, cloud technologies, or similar fields.
• Experience in supporting government programs or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with ATO processes and federal compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and documentation of infrastructure.
• Capability to collaborate across engineering, DevOps, and program management teams.
• Ability to excel in dynamic Agile environments with shifting priorities.
• Willingness to travel locally up to 10% of the time.
