This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the editorial standards for the federal corrections training modernization initiative.
• Organize, oversee, and coordinate documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Create, revise, and refine intricate technical documents, such as lesson plans, facilitator and participant guides, program documentation, user manuals, and reports.
• Gather and analyze technical data, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure precision.
• Develop technical illustrations for training sessions and presentations.
• Guarantee that deliverables meet industry standards and quality specifications.
• Manage the layout and production of documents.
• Transform complex information into clear and concise content for diverse audiences.
• Ensure that written materials are consistent, accurate, and prepared for federal customer review to a zero-corrections standard.
• Oversee editorial quality across products created by instructional designers, graphic designers, and accessibility testers.
• A Bachelor's degree in English, communications, technical communication, journalism, or a related field is required.
• At least five years of experience in technical writing and editing.
• Proven experience in producing documentation for customer review and formal acceptance.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold a consistent editorial standard across materials authored by multiple individuals.
• Strong proficiency in document layout and production using standard productivity software.
• Availability during core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday, within a mutually agreed part-time schedule.
• Experience with training or curriculum documentation, including lesson plans, facilitator guides, participant materials, or job aids.
• Knowledge of corrections, law enforcement, or public safety subjects.
• Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards as they relate to documentation.
• Experience working on a federal contract that includes a documented comment-resolution process.
• Employment is contingent upon contract award and any necessary background or suitability screening.
• Fully remote work from any location within the United States.
• No travel obligations.
• Part-time schedule totaling approximately 975 hours in the base year.
• Continued part-time support is expected in the option year.
• Core-hours schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday.
• Overtime is not authorized for this program.
