This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Assist in the development, review, and upkeep of Safety Basis documentation for nuclear and high-hazard facilities.
• Edit, format, and conduct quality checks on technical and regulatory documents, which include Documented Safety Analyses, Technical Safety Requirements, Hazard Analyses, supporting calculations, Safety Evaluation Reports, and change packages.
• Ensure that documentation adheres to relevant DOE orders, standards, and site-specific requirements, such as DOE O 420.1 and 10 CFR 830.
• Enhance the clarity, organization, consistency, and readability of complex technical materials while preserving their technical intent.
• Implement and uphold document standards, templates, style guides, and configuration management protocols.
• Collaborate with authors, engineers, nuclear safety analysts, and subject matter experts to address comments and elevate document quality.
• Facilitate internal reviews, audits, and readiness activities by preparing documents for approval and submission.
• Monitor revisions, manage comment resolutions, and maintain version control.
• Work closely with technical subject matter experts in a highly regulated, compliance-focused environment.
• Acquire knowledge and understanding of intricate technical subjects.
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, journalism, technical communication, or a physical/social science.
• Over 6 years of pertinent experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and retain a government-issued clearance, if necessary.
• Proven experience in editing technical, engineering, nuclear, or regulatory documentation.
• Strong grasp of grammar, technical writing style, document structure, and consistency.
• Experience collaborating with subject matter experts in highly regulated environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and document control tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Capability to manage numerous documents, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a highly regulated and compliance-oriented environment.
