This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
β’ Assist in a Radar Site and Spectrum Relocation Analysis Support initiative for a federal client managing a nationwide NEXRAD weather-radar network.
β’ Create, format, and refine formal program deliverables, such as baseline reports, site reuse viability assessments, frequency measurement documents, and conditionally delineated area reports.
β’ Develop and maintain standardized report and map/report templates along with a program style guide.
β’ Convert spectrum, geospatial, site survey, engineering, GIS, and data analysis inputs into narratives suitable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Aid in production controls that differentiate between physical/geospatial findings and spectrum engineering conclusions as well as Government decisions.
β’ Record unresolved assumptions and limitations.
β’ Generate program management documentation, including minutes from kickoff meetings, quality control plan materials, and inputs for status reporting.
β’ Prepare deliverables in PDF format and dashboard-export versions.
β’ Coordinate accessibility formatting and apply Section 508 considerations as necessary.
β’ Oversee document version control, reviews, and quality checks to ensure compliance with client acceptance standards.
β’ Manage spectrum and site information in accordance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.
β’ Travel occasionally as needed, but minimal travel is expected.
β’ Must be a US Citizen.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Journalism, or a related discipline (equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree).
β’ A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing.
β’ Preferably have experience supporting federal government programs or working with technical/engineering content.
β’ Ability to create clear, precise, and well-organized technical reports and documentation from complex source materials.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat/PDF production, including the use of templates, styles, and document formatting.
β’ Strong skills in editing, proofreading, and document quality control.
β’ Experience in developing and maintaining templates and style guides to ensure consistency in deliverables.
β’ Familiarity with the handling requirements of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
β’ Willingness to travel occasionally (minimal) to support program activities as necessary.
β’ Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements for documents and content that is heavy on maps.
β’ Experience in documenting geospatial, GIS, RF/spectrum, radar, or telecommunications topics.
β’ Background in preparing federal deliverables under FFP/CLIN, milestone-driven contracts.
β’ Familiarity with SharePoint and Google Workspace.
β’ Previous experience supporting a federal agency involved with mission-critical infrastructure, radar, or spectrum programs.
