Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop, edit, review, and sustain technical documentation, which encompasses user manuals, standard operating procedures, technical guides, knowledge articles, process diagrams, training resources, and system documentation.

• Design, manage, and enhance Confluence spaces, including page layouts, templates, metadata, and macros.

• Utilize Jira for overseeing documentation backlogs, monitoring deliverables, supporting Agile initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Collect requirements and information from subject matter experts, engineers, cybersecurity teams, product groups, and business stakeholders.

• Create reusable documentation frameworks and content repositories.

• Convert intricate technical, cybersecurity, and AI topics into accessible materials for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ensure documentation governance, manage version control, oversee review cycles, and handle content lifecycle processes.

• Assist with audits, compliance obligations, and initiatives aimed at process improvement.

• Document AI systems, workflows, governance procedures, automation capabilities, and business use cases.

• Create and maintain documentation that supports Defensive Cyber Operations, SOC activities, incident response, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and cyber defense efforts.

• Produce cybersecurity playbooks, procedures, and operational documents that align with security policies and industry standards.

• Work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, cybersecurity experts, AI practitioners, and various stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience in IT, software development, engineering, cybersecurity, or enterprise programs.

• Advanced proficiency with Atlassian Confluence, including space management, templates, macros, content architecture, and knowledge management techniques.

• Extensive experience using Jira for workflow management, project tracking, and Agile development support.

• Proven capability to produce high-quality technical documentation from information sourced from various stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and best practices in documentation.

• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning principles, and AI-driven productivity tools.

• Knowledge of Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), cybersecurity principles, security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and SOC functions.

• Exceptional skills in writing, verbal communication, analytical thinking, organization, and editing.

• Current and valid CompTIA Security+ certification.

• TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.

• Must possess US work authorization without any current or future visa sponsorship requirements.
