This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support and lead ABC Motus partners in the assembly, installation, upgrades, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting of stations.
• Assemble, configure, and test Motus station components in accordance with ABC standards.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standardized procedures for station construction, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Design and execute repeatable tests for Motus-compatible technologies and configurations, including tags, antennas, receivers, power systems, communication equipment, and emerging hardware.
• Travel as required to assist with station installations, field testing, troubleshooting, workshops, and other Motus-related activities.
• Aid in the testing and development of Motus software and firmware, including SensorGnome, SensorStation, and associated tools.
• Identify and document technical issues, communicating findings to developers, vendors, and program staff.
• Utilize Linux, command-line tools, networking, and various technical systems to configure equipment, diagnose issues, and support both field and laboratory testing.
• Create and document technical solutions, test results, recommended configurations, and troubleshooting guidance.
• Assist in the development and assessment of prototype components, mounting systems, enclosures, and other technical applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and proven technical experience.
• Strong mechanical skills with a proven ability to assemble, modify, troubleshoot, and repair technical equipment.
• Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and capability to quickly learn unfamiliar hardware and software systems.
• Comfortable utilizing computers, Linux systems, command-line tools, and fundamental networking.
• Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
• Ability to design, conduct, document, and interpret repeatable technical tests.
• Capacity to work independently, efficiently, accurately, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical procedures, issues, and outcomes.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work in diverse field conditions.
• Comfortable working at heights and using ladders and other equipment associated with Motus station installations.
• Must have a stable and high-speed internet service provider prior to starting work.
• Authorized to work in the US or possess Permanent Resident status.
• Background screening is mandatory.
• Occasional air and car travel may be necessary; air travel is expected for distances exceeding 350 miles.
