This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Design and obtain permits for distribution lines.
• Create technical drawings and generate bills of materials.
• Procure necessary materials.
• Conduct site visits to gather information for drawing development.
• Develop overhead and underground electrical distribution designs utilizing various software tools.
• Adhere to local utility and construction standards.
• Contribute to the design of complete projects, systems, components, or processes.
• Draft plans, specifications, and other essential project documentation.
• Assist in design support, perform analyses, and interpret testing data.
• Delegate tasks and manage both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Organize and oversee engineering activities.
• Establish scopes, budgets, and timelines for projects.
• Aid in developing proposals for professional services or engineering project financing.
• Mentor direct reports and junior team members while reviewing their work outputs.
• Participate in project meetings and present various elements of engineering assignments.
• Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Valid Driver’s License is mandatory.
• Experience in distribution line design.
• Proficiency in designing overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Competence in using design software packages effectively.
• Familiarity with local utility and construction standards.
• Capability to conduct site visits and utilize information for drawing creation.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within design teams.
• Skill in multitasking and prioritizing workload.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Flexibility to manage changing deadlines and project scopes.
• Minimal travel required for site visits (5%-30%).
