This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee technical SEO for higher education client accounts.
• Conduct technical audits that assess crawlability, indexation, site structure, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and any broken links.
• Prioritize issues by their impact and effort, and advocate for your recommendations.
• Create developer-ready specifications and ensure follow-through until fixes are implemented and validated.
• Execute light WordPress implementations, encompassing titles, meta descriptions, plugin-level redirects, and schema markup.
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 for traffic declines, errors, and indexing issues.
• Take charge of technical readiness for AI search, focusing on crawler access, structured data, entity optimization, and content organization.
• Design and develop Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for audits, prioritization, reporting, and quality assurance.
• Establish content production systems that generate nearly publish-ready drafts based on briefs, client guidelines, and optimization objectives.
• Transform team standards into reusable systems.
• Integrate Search Console, GA4, crawl exports, and Ahrefs/Semrush into cohesive workflows.
• Document systems, educate the team, assess impact, and phase out ineffective systems.
• Act as the team's go-to technical SEO expert.
• Participate in client calls to discuss complex technical topics while the SEO Lead facilitates the conversation.
• Assess emerging search technologies and suggest new tools, processes, and workflows.
• A minimum of 5 years in SEO, with at least 3 years dedicated to technical SEO.
• Preferably experience gained in an agency setting or managing multiple sites simultaneously.
• Proven history of identifying high-impact site issues, prioritizing them, and facilitating their resolution.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Strong working knowledge of WordPress, including themes, plugins, redirects, and schema markup.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Claude, particularly in creating agents and AI-driven workflows.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Capability to take ownership of outcomes across various accounts independently.
• Familiarity with Claude API or other APIs, as well as basic scripting in Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with AI search visibility (AEO/GEO).
• Background in log file analysis, JavaScript SEO, or managing large-scale site migrations.
• Knowledge of tools like Grammarly, Asana, or similar platforms.
• Experience in higher education or enrollment marketing is a plus.
