This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Strategically plan, prepare, and execute live software demonstrations for the Rocscience product suite, customized to align with customers' applications, industries, and engineering challenges.
• Conduct technical discovery discussions to grasp customer workflows and challenges effectively.
• Identify suitable Rocscience solutions and provide hands-on demonstrations.
• Assist in the sales cycle by facilitating evaluations, trials, and proofs of concept.
• Support the sales team in qualifying and advancing opportunities.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for customer inquiries.
• Offer practical insights on modeling techniques, workflows, and geotechnical applications.
• Cultivate trusted relationships with customers through technical expertise, promptness, and an understanding of their business and engineering needs.
• Deliver software training sessions, technical workshops, and courses throughout the APAC region.
• Represent Rocscience at conferences, industry events, client meetings, and technical forums.
• Relay customer feedback and insights to Sales, Technical Services, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Report directly to the Sales Director, APAC.
• Establish yourself as a reliable technical resource for customers across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider APAC region.
• A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in an engineering-related position.
• Extensive hands-on experience with RS3, showcasing proficiency in 3D finite element modeling of geotechnical issues.
• A solid understanding of geotechnical and rock mechanics principles, including slope stability, finite element analysis, limit equilibrium, settlement, groundwater, and soil and rock behavior.
• A customer-focused attitude, along with strong listening and discovery abilities.
• Capability to align software solutions with a customer’s engineering challenges rather than just presenting a list of product features.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in conveying complex technical concepts, assumptions, reliability, and risks to diverse audiences.
• Confidence in presenting and demonstrating technical material to both individuals and groups.
• Willingness to travel within Australia and occasionally internationally.
• Experience in open-pit slope stability and rock mechanics, especially within the Australian mining and resources sector (highly regarded).
• Familiarity with the broader Rocscience product suite, including Slide2, Slide3, RS2, Settle3, RSPile, RocSlope2, RocSlope3, RocFall2, RocFall3, and Dips (highly regarded).
• Previous roles in technical sales, applications engineering, product specialization, or geotechnical consulting (highly regarded).
• Practical site or operational experience in mining, tunneling, or civil infrastructure projects (highly regarded).
• Background in delivering software training, technical courses, workshops, or presentations at conferences (highly regarded).
