Sales Engineer – AI Security Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical assessment of the client's security landscape, operational challenges, key stakeholders, and decision-making criteria.

• Collaborate with Account Executives to develop an evaluation strategy and sustain technical progress throughout the sales process.

• Provide customized demonstrations that link Conifers’ features to the customer's workflows and priorities.

• Lead proof of value initiatives with defined scope, measurable success metrics, timelines, and responsibilities.

• Assist with integrations and resolve issues related to permissions, APIs, data availability, and configurations during evaluations.

• Review investigation outcomes with analysts and security leaders, clarifying evidence, conclusions, and any existing gaps.

• Transform evaluation results into a coherent technical and business case, address concerns, and communicate findings to decision-makers.

• Coordinate technical questionnaires and security assessments, involving internal experts as necessary.

• Relay customer insights to Product and Engineering teams, enhancing reusable demos, guides, and evaluation resources.

• Foster trusted technical relationships post-sale with onboarding and support teams.


⛳️ Requirements

• A background that merges hands-on cybersecurity experience with customer-facing technical responsibilities, typically encompassing 4 or more years of pertinent experience.

• Proven experience leading customer demonstrations, technical workshops, or proofs of concept, showcasing clear ownership and successful outcomes.

• Practical knowledge of alert triage, investigation, escalation, and incident response processes.

• In-depth hands-on experience with at least one major SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, or similar security platform, along with the capacity to learn new tools.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting REST APIs, JSON, authentication, permissions, and data flow.

• Ability to articulate technical findings effectively to practitioners, SOC managers, and business stakeholders.

• Strong judgment regarding evidence, uncertainty, and when to engage a specialist.

• Discipline to manage customer commitments, document decisions, and keep multiple evaluations progressing.

• A curious mindset about AI and a genuine interest in its responsible application within security operations.

• Experience in an MSSP or MDR setting, transitioning from security operations, implementation, or technical account management to presales, including writing Python/PowerShell/Bash scripts, developing security automation/integrations/technical demonstrations, or utilizing and validating AI tools is advantageous.
