This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Take charge of the growth and performance of automation products, including linear actuators, servo motors, gearboxes, PLCs, motion controllers, VFDs, and related electronic controls within the designated territory.
• Establish and nurture OEM relationships to ensure product specification into machine and equipment designs.
• Foster growth through managed accounts and collaborate with the local sales team throughout Northern and Central Illinois and Indiana.
• Create and implement a growth plan and strategy for automation products in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager.
• Engage in sales calls, providing technical expertise to support both inside and outside sales teams.
• Comprehend customer applications and specify products for integration into equipment and machine designs.
• Design electrical systems and assist with cost estimation alongside the engineering team.
• Contribute to value-added solution proposals and presentations customized for customer applications.
• Provide support for electrical systems in the field as required.
• Develop technical training materials for product and solution sales in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers.
• Manage approximately 50 to 60 customer accounts while cultivating new OEM and application-focused relationships.
• Document account activities, contacts, and opportunities daily in CRM and ERP systems.
• Inform customers about trends, technologies, and capabilities within the automation industry.
• A strong hands-on technical foundation in automation, electronic controls, electromechanical devices, or industrial controls.
• Capability to grasp customer applications and assist in specifying products for integration into equipment or machine designs.
• Extensive knowledge of automation products and automation network protocols, including PLCs, motion controllers, VFDs, servo motors, linear actuators, or electromechanical systems.
• A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in technical sales or customer-facing technical roles.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
• Proficient in time management and multitasking.
• Familiarity with ERP, CRM, inventory software, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred experience in OEM selling or application-focused technical sales.
• Experience selling to medical equipment manufacturers, paper converting industries, custom machine builders, food processing equipment, machine tooling, or hydraulic press manufacturers is advantageous.
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
• A background in fluid power, hydraulics, or pneumatics, in addition to electronic controls and automation, is preferred.
