This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate directly with engineering leaders to gain insights into their teams, formulate hiring strategies, and oversee searches across various domains including product, infrastructure, AI, mobile, and other technical fields.
• Develop a reliable, high-quality talent pipeline through talent mapping, direct sourcing, referrals, and fostering long-term relationships.
• Identify engineers who possess robust technical foundations, sound product judgment, craftsmanship, and demonstrate significant ownership in their work.
• Perform comprehensive recruiter assessments that evaluate technical fluency, ownership, product sensibility, motivations, and alignment with Linear’s work culture.
• Maintain progress through transparent communication, rapid feedback loops, and clear ownership at each stage of the hiring process.
• Leverage funnel data, candidate feedback, and hiring outcomes to refine sourcing strategies and pre-work trial calibration.
• Keep accurate and useful data in Ashby, ensuring that hiring partners have clear visibility into pipeline health, potential risks, and next steps.
• Play a role in shaping the operations of the small Talent team while remaining flexible enough to assist other functions as the company evolves.
• A minimum of 5 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, particularly in hiring senior engineers at high-growth startups or product-driven technology firms.
• Outstanding sourcing capabilities utilizing research, networks, referrals, and strategic outreach.
• Strong judgment regarding technical talent, product orientation, ownership, and candidate alignment.
• Ability to establish credibility with highly sought-after engineers and effectively communicate Linear’s opportunities in a clear and candid manner.
• Proven track record of developing trusted, direct relationships with demanding hiring managers and technical leaders.
• Proficient interviewing skills with the ability to differentiate polished interview performance from genuine evidence of impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that are clear and persuasive.
• High level of operational discipline, including thoughtful prioritization, reliable follow-through, accurate data management, and rapid feedback loops.
• Comfort in a less structured environment, contributing to a small, distributed, high-performing team.
• Familiarity with Linear or similar products and organizations renowned for exceptional software craftsmanship.
• Commitment to enhancing the candidate experience by providing direct feedback and managing complex or competitive closing discussions.
