Technical Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive project management for customer implementations, overseeing all phases from kickoff to go-live and stabilization.

• Lead intricate health system and hospital implementations that involve various stakeholders, phased rollouts, and large-scale technical environments.

• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, risk registers, and status reports for multiple concurrent implementations.

• Identify, escalate, and address blockers, dependencies, and risks throughout the project lifecycle.

• Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and steering committee reviews to ensure alignment and progress.

• Ensure that implementation deliverables comply with quality standards and meet customer acceptance criteria.

• Manage scope changes while communicating impacts on timelines, resources, and budgets.

• Act as the primary technical project owner for Epic EMR implementations, guiding the process from requirements gathering to interface activation and go-live.

• Coordinate data validation, interface testing, and environment configuration across Epic and other EMR platforms.

• Create process documentation, runbooks, and playbooks to support Epic implementation delivery.

• Provide guidance on implementation decisions based on knowledge of health plan operations, provider workflows, risk adjustment, and quality management.

• Advise customers on the integration of Navina into both clinical and administrative workflows.

• Serve as the main project owner and accountability point for customers throughout the implementation process.

• Foster relationships with customer stakeholders, ranging from IT analysts and Epic build teams to executives and governance committees.

• Communicate project status, risks, and decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborate with Customer Success Managers during the transition from implementation to account management.

• Collect and relay customer feedback to Product, Engineering, and Medical teams for continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project management, implementation management, or program management roles.

• Proven experience in delivering complex, multi-stakeholder technology implementations within healthcare environments, specifically large health systems and hospitals (required).

• Direct experience in implementing or managing Epic EMR customers, with a strong grasp of Epic technical requirements, integration architecture, and configuration workflows (required).

• Practical experience with health plan, provider, risk adjustment, and/or quality management programs (HEDIS, Stars ratings, RAF scoring, or equivalent).

• Background in health tech, healthcare SaaS, EHR/EMR vendors, health system consulting, or IT/operations within payer/provider organizations (required).

• Extensive knowledge of Epic architecture, integration points, FHIR API enablement, SMART on FHIR/OAuth2, user access provisioning, and interface build and activation.

• Familiarity with eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Veradigm, Cerner, and their integration architectures.

• Understanding of HL7, FHIR, CCDA, ADT feeds, and API-based integrations.

• Capability to interpret technical specifications, integration diagrams, and data mapping documents.

• Proficient with tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Salesforce, Confluence, or similar applications.

• Comfortable working with spreadsheets or SQL environments.

• Exceptional skills in organization, written and verbal communication, cross-functional alignment, managing ambiguity, and nurturing customer relationships.

• PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Epic certification in relevant modules or integration areas is desirable.

• Experience in supporting healthcare SaaS pre-sales or solution scoping.

• Exposure to ACO, MSSP, capitation, or payer-provider joint ventures.

• Experience working within Customer Success organizations in a SaaS context.

• Familiarity with AI/ML-powered clinical solutions or clinical decision support tools.
