Project Engineering Manager – Technical Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute steam turbine projects for Own Fleet Capital Parts, intricate Upgrades, Engineering Studies, and valve solutions.

• Offer technical guidance and collaborate with Proposals, Project Management, Customers, Product Management, Sourcing, and Engineering subcontractors.

• Assist in project setup alongside Engineering, Workshops, Supply Chain, and Field Service teams, outlining deliverables, interfaces, and timelines.

• Oversee prioritization and escalations as needed.

• Utilize Propolis tools and OneEngineering processes to manage Engineering tasks, budgets, and timely deliveries.

• Adhere to global standards and common processes to ensure consistent quality.

• Guarantee compliance and product safety for supplied components in accordance with GE Vernova’s SQDC.

• Organize and facilitate Design Reviews during project execution.

• Propel innovation and enhancements in lean methodologies.

• Continuously refine processes and tools for the Steam Turbine upgrades team.

• Track project productivity, margin enhancement opportunities, and project costs using EAC metrics.

• Standardize technical documentation and deliverable templates.

• Lead or engage in Kaizens and Value Stream Activities.

• Evaluate the team skill matrix and arrange Knowledge Transfer workshops.

• Assist in pre-bid proposal reviews by validating engineering hours and material cost estimates.

• Report to the global Steam Turbine Requisition Engineering Manager within Steam Turbine Services and Gas Power Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

• Minimum 5+ years of combined experience in mechanical engineering of turbomachinery or power plant components, technical field services, repairs, plant operations services, or a related technical function.

• At least 5 years of experience in project execution activities, ranging from standard transactional service business to complex upgrades.

• Willingness to travel regionally or globally up to 20% of the time.

• Demonstrated competence and experience in customer negotiation and execution activities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently across functions in a matrix environment.

• Leadership with unwavering standards for integrity, compliance, and safety.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including experience in multi-location and multi-cultural settings.

• Capacity to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.

• Ability to interface efficiently with all organizational levels and external customers/suppliers.

• Learning agility and eagerness to expand into broader project engineering leadership roles.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
