Technical Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of intricate programs spanning VoIP/UCaaS/CCaaS platforms, cloud services, customer-facing applications, APIs, infrastructure, and operational systems from the planning phase to production.

• Convert product, customer, and engineering goals into actionable plans, milestones, designated owners, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.

• Facilitate collaboration across Engineering, Product, QA, Network Operations, DevOps/SRE, Security, Support, and various other teams.

• Cultivate a technical understanding of managed systems to engage with engineers, challenge assumptions, pinpoint gaps, and drive issues toward resolution.

• Oversee platform upgrades, software releases, infrastructure migrations, customer deployments, integrations, and initiatives focused on reliability and performance.

• Identify technical and organizational dependencies, risks, and bottlenecks, and lead efforts to mitigate or escalate them.

• Monitor execution to ensure that commitments have clear ownership and are pursued to completion.

• Share status updates, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations with engineering leaders and executives.

• Leverage operational and engineering metrics to enhance delivery predictability, quality, reliability, and efficiency.

• Refine program-management processes and utilize automation and AI tools to minimize manual coordination and maximize organizational leverage.

• Work across globally distributed engineering teams and influence teams without having direct reporting authority.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, software or product development, or a closely related technical role.

• Proven success in independently driving technically complex, cross-functional programs that involve multiple engineering teams.

• In-depth understanding of software development lifecycles, APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, databases, networking, and production operations.

• Willingness and capability to learn unfamiliar technologies thoroughly enough to grasp architecture, dependencies, failure modes, and engineering trade-offs.

• Experience in managing releases, migrations, integrations, production deployments, technical dependencies, risks, and competing priorities.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish structure and execution discipline in ambiguous environments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective communication with engineers and senior leadership.

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, dashboards and reporting tools, and modern AI-assisted productivity tools.

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical technical experience.

• Experience with VoIP/SIP, telecommunications, UCaaS/CCaaS, cloud communications, AWS, Azure, OCI, Linux, networking, carrier integrations, or related technologies is highly beneficial.

• Previous experience in software engineering, systems engineering, QA automation, DevOps/SRE, solution architecture, or another hands-on technical discipline is a plus.

• PMP, PgMP, Scrum, SAFe, or similar certification is advantageous.
